
The +421 Foundation together with the Consulate General of Slovakia in New York, the Czech Consulate General in New York and Czech Center /www.czechcenter.com/ prepared The Velvet Revolution Party to commemorate the anniversary of the fall of communism in former Czechoslovakia. The party took place at the New York’s most prestigious club Pink Elephant on November 16, 2007. The program included a performance by singers Marta Topferova from the Czech Republic and Brigita Tarinova from Slovakia. The audience also applauded to dancers of Dusan Tynek group. The aim of a silent auction featuring works of Slovak and Czech visual artists was to raise funds to support Reocentrum – the premier treatment center for children with cerebral palsy disease in Bratislava, Slovakia and Zlin Orphanage in Lazy, Czech Republic. The cultural program was followed by a dance party.
