Slovak Fashion Night III
The Third Annual Slovak Fashion Night is the signature event of the +421 Foundation, in partnership with the Consulate General of Slovakia in New York, under the patronage of Mrs. Silvia Gasparovicova, the first lady of Slovakia. The event will be held aboard the fabulous Frying Pan Boat Club in Chelsea Piers on the Hudson River on May 16, 2008.
This year’s Slovak Fashion Night will introduce the contemporary trends in Slovak fashion through the educational project of Marek Kopanica and Annemarie Higgins “IN & AUT” presenting fashion and photography collections INspired by the world of AUT ism. Proceeds from the evening will support medical research for the autistic community here in New York and in Slovakia.
The cultural program will include a fashion show styled by the New York-based stylist Linda Drabova, featuring designs of the young Slovak fashion designer Boris Hanecka, fashion photography by Matus Toth influenced by the theme of autism, and a live auction featuring the work of young Slovak visual artists.
Workshop for orphans
The +421 Foundation organizes a workshop for a group of children from Slovakia, Hungary and Austria living in orphanages in August 2008. During the workshop held by experienced dancers young participants will learn more about dancing itself as well as its cultural and historical background. They will also have the opportunity to visit some Slovak natural and historical beauty spots. Joint program of the children will be presented in a Christmas party of the +421 Foundation in December in Bratislava.
Contemporary Slovak Glass Exhibit
In cooperation with the SteubenGlass Galery (www.steuben.com) in Manhattan and the Gallery Nova in Bratislava, Slovakia (www.galeria-nova.sk), the +421 Foundation will organize a splendid autumn glass soiree. The young Slovak contemporary glass artists will demonstrate a variety of different creative and technical approaches, building on the tradition of the world renowned artist Vaclav Cigler.
The Velvet Revolution Party II
The +421 Foundation, in partnership with the Consulate General of Slovakia in New York, the Czech Consulate General in New York, and the Czech Center New York will organize the second annual Velvet Revolution Party. The event will commemorate the 19th anniversary of the triumph of democracy in 1989 in the former Czechoslovakia. The cultural program will include presentations of talented Czech and Slovak artists to the New York community. The Velvet Revolution Party will be a charitable event.

Fashion Night
The
+421 Foundation with a patronage of the Consulate General of Slovakia
in New York is preparing a Slovak Fashion Night
in New York on May 19, 2007. The venue of the event is the upscale
Retox Club in Chelsea (www.retoxrockbar.com). Last year's Slovak/
American street wear fashion show was one of our most successful projects.
This year professional New York models will present works of emerging
Slovak fashion designers /Lukas Kimlicka, Milota Krajincakova, Stina
Krivakova, Vladimira Bebcakova and Dana Kleinert/ coordinated by a New York based stylist
Linda Drabova (www.stylebylinda.com).
During the evening Pavel Zustiak with his dance theater company Palissimo
(www.palissimo.com) will perform two excerpts of their show “Le
Petit Mort” and the Slovak folk ensemble Limbora will add their
Funky Gypsy dance followed by a live auction of cutting-edge fashion
designs and artistic fashion photography.
The aim of the evening is to raise funds for children with cerebral
palsy in Slovakia and provide an opportunity for talented Slovak artists
to interact with the artistic environment of New York.
The Velvet Revolution Party
The +421 Foundation, in partnership with the Consulate General of Slovakia in New York, the Czech Consulate General in New York, the Czech Center New York, and the Palissimo Foundation present the Velvet Revolution Party at Chelsea’s Pink Elephant Club in New York on November 16, 2007.
The event will commemorate the triumph of democracy in 1989 in former Czechoslovakia, and introduce talented Czech and Slovak artists to the New York artistic community.
The Velvet Revolution Party is to benefit “Reocentrum” – the premier treatment center for children with cerebral palsy disease in Bratislava, Slovakia, as well as the Zlin Orphanage in Lazy, Czech Republic.
The cultural program will include live performances by the young Slovak singer Brigita Tarinova, Czech singer Marta Topferova, Czech Dancer Dusan Tynek and a silent auction featuring the work of Czech and Slovak visual artists.
The +421 Foundation US Registration Launch Party
This splendid evening of fine food, drinks, entertainment will provide our foundation with the necessary gift to further our important mission to promote Slovak art, culture and the forging of Slovak-American partnerships.
This amazing and significant event will be held on November 26th, 2007.
